Day 1: Introductions

How does one introduce oneself? I hate doing it so the first thing that came to mind was "Introductions, my ass". For a (very) brief moment I contemplated creating a rather literal version of that idea. Thankfully I thought better of it. The train of thought then ran to "Introductions, my eye". Ah now that was better. Then as I was experimenting with creating an image of my own eye it occured to me that introductions would be easier of people could just see through my eyes. Best I could do was a reflection of what I saw. On a cold rainy day I really just wanted to be outside.

The process of creating a macro image of ones own eye turned out to be rather difficult. Focus and composition both required a rather exact placement of my head and , of course, I needed to be able to tell if I was positioned correctly. So I plugged the camera into the laptop and took the shot(s) remotely with one eye peeled on the laptop, one hand on the mouse with the cursor hovering over the focus button and the other hand on the space bar ready to take the picture. It took a bunch of aborted attempts to figure that out but it worked in the end. The image was complicated by the rainy day and absence of supplemental light. Sigh
